An idea for the film fest finally struck me

So I’ve written the first draft of my script for the li’l film festival. I’m setting it in Olive Branch, MS. I e-mailed the festival heads and they said that OB is close enough to be counted as Memphis. I’ve chosen to write a story that will make the founder of OB, Milton Blocker, roll around in his grave. As his grave will actually be featured in the film we can all put our heads down to the ground and listen to him howl at my flagrant disregard of his reputation.
I’m going to mix fact with fiction in this piece. Milton was real but that’s about where the fact ends. Hush, don’t tell anyone going to the festival that, they’re suppose guess whether it’s real or not.
I was watching a program several months about a man that lived in the Keys who dug up the body of a woman he’d been obsessed with. He put wax over the body to keep it looking human and to slow the decay. He then married the wax corpse. For my movie I’m shifting the details around. Milton will bring back the body of his deceased son and make a wax sculpture with it. I’ve actually managed to write this script as incredibly macabre humor. At the very least, my movie will stick out from the rest. I don’t know many people who’ll pick such a dark plot and then turn it into a comedy.
I’ve finished the first draft of the screenplay. I’ll post up a more polished copy tomorrow for anyone who wants to read it.
If you live in the Memphis area, we are having auditions this Thursday and Friday 5pm-6:30pm at the Starbucks in Olive Branch, MS located near the Walmart. It’s on the same road as the Jiffylube and Parkwood. The starbuck’s street address is: 8140 Goodman Rd
Olive Branch, MS 38671
I’d be very happy to have the biggest turn out possible. I know when it comes to actors the pickings in this corner of the world are slim. But I can hope. I could also use someone to help with filming. There is a role in this script that I would like to play myself but I need a capable cameraman’s help if I’m going to do it. You don’t have to have oodles of experience. I don’t have much experience myself.
Anyway we are looking for the following types of actors:
Number Race/Gender Age
1 White/man 30-45
1 White/woman 25-35
3 Any race/ any gender 18+
1 White/ any gender 11-14
